** INTEL SPOOKILY CRAZY CPU PRICES!! **

Need company to be competitive > everyone sits around slandering them and wondering why others are put off lol.

I haven't taken a good look at AMD's cpu offerings myself tbh but if it's like the gpu's then they'll be a bit behind but it'll be made up by price difference anyway and people will still complain regardless.

I have, the 1090T was the last genuinely good cpu for enthusiasts. Sure the 8350 is ok but the chipset not being updated in nearly 5 years lets it down.

I think if the 8350 had come out on a "1090"FX chipset instead of 990FX even if it was just mild refresh to support some of the newer tech it would have gone some way to keeping AMD relevant. Even manufacturers can't be bothered to make new boards.

since 990FX we've had Z68 z77 z87 z97 z170 iterations the 990 fx may have lead the way back in 2011 but it's stagnant the lack of refresh forces it out of the review market and out of most peoples minds.

Intel are giving us the ability to sell some of their fastest processors below actual trade prices, the catch is it is ONLY UPTO THREE PER CUSTOMER and the will withdraw the promotion support November 2nd.

Hmm, is it November already?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £289.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £199.99
Total : £499.58 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

So much for November 2? Did Intel cancel their own promotion? Would be strange if they had.

I agree and expected as much but I imagine the prices of it sort of reflect the overall position it stands at too. Might be wrong but just saying I don't think they're going to purposefully price themselves out of the market but CPU's they've been behind on for a while anyway.
