Currently I am think of buying 2 160 Gb Intel drives to run in Raid 0 the question is will I notice a performance difference from running 1 ? Just i could use this money wisely elsewhere.

Cheers peeps

Just run one.

You are not going to notice any real world difference unless you are ;

a) A benchmark freak
b) In a server environment

Also, you won't be able to TRIM them in raid.

You will only notice a performance increase if using RAID0 on a desktop if you are working with large files (ie video files, copying/moving etc) and/or unzipping large files regularly...

From my understanding TRIM will operate on Intel SSDs in RAID0 on Win 7, with new firmware update (for SSDs) and ICHxR driver release...

Instead of running 2 x 160GBs SSDs in RAID0, what about 2 x 80GBs SSDs instead...

I've been using Raido for a few years now, and just replace my 2 Vertex for a single new intel, and I don't see any diference in windows 7 performance. Go for a single big ssd one ;)

RAID 0 with fast SSD's is a total waste of time and money. Unless your primary reason for having a PC is to run benchmarks you can defo spend the money better elsewhere.
