Hi Guys

Been running an Intel SSD X25-M 80GB for a few years now,I'm considering buying something newer, are the newer SSD much faster than what I am running at the moment or will it be about the same in the day to day running

Thanks All

:)

If you have a SATA 3 motherboard there will be a noticeable difference. On SATA 2 you won't get the benefits of the faster speeds so there will be no improvement.

You won't notice a difference if it's just for the OS.

If you're doing a lot of large sequentials then you may notice a difference, but even then it won't be major.

The only real place you'll see the benefit is in benchmarks, real world use you'll be hard pushed to understand why you spent the cash ;)

I went from a 80GB X25 to a M4.. Big difference on paper but no real difference for OS use. Used the M4 for a few months and then sold it. Went back to my X25...

Edit, I should add I did notice the difference running games. Did load quicker on the M4..
