Having read a few of the threads in here to get peoples recommendations I see a fair few thumbs up for the intel X-25m, however no one seems to suggest the intel 320's.

Am I missing something as it appears to be slightly better specced speed-wise and i would guess it a slightly newer model so why do people still recommend getting the x-25m rather than the 320s?

The X25's great strength is it's reliability, the failure rate is a tenth that of other SSDs. The 320's are a lot newer than the X25-M G2's and are superior to the X25-M's, but as it stands there is an issue with a bug that can cause loss of all data - it's not very widespread, and Intel are apparently working on a fix, but we don't know what triggers it yet.

the bug is a very small selection of the drives.
intel are the most reliable ssd manufacturer on the planet. there is simply not a better SATA II solution in terms of non enterprise level storage.

obviously the SATA III drives are faster but thats a different principle.
also, remember that intel drives have excellent software support
