Intel to AMD upgrade

Hello All,

Currently have the lockdown itch to upgrade, (also been gifted a new GPU) current setup:

- i5-8400
- Gigabyte H370M D3H
- 16GB Ram DDR4 2400
- MSI Super Armor 2060 Super (just been gifted)
- Antec P8 case (don't really want to change)
- Antec EarthWatts Gold Pro 650W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power

This is mainly used for gaming @ 1440p

So i'm looking to upgrade the CPU/Mobo/Ram with a very good cooler, I've been looking at the 3800x just not sure on the other parts especially the cooler.

Budget isn't a issue, looking for something as future proof as possible

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you looked into just upgrading your CPU to a 9th gen intel processor. I know you said money isn't the issue but spending all that money to upgrade to an AM4 socket when it could be end of life might be unwise. You could pick up a 9700k or 9900k for the time being and wait for the new Ryzen 4000 series to come out

9700k or 9900k overpriced and little more than useless on a motherboard that won't overclock

That's true, bad recommendation on the specifics but the idea is in the right place.
