ok when i used my ssd which is a intel 510 120gb in my old board running on a intel sata port the ssd optimizer worked in the ssd toolbox...now i am using it on the marvel controller it says drive not supported...first of all is there another app like intel toolbox to use ssd optimizer or is that only possible on a intel sata port ...

ok done a bit more research into this and looks like after you install the marvel drives then the tool box doesnt seem to like the drive...looks like ill be goind sandybridge to get a intel controller for my ssd ...6gbs .

well with it being the only 6gbs port on the board i used it with havin a 6gbs ssd...so looks like ill be getting a sandy bridge so i can have a intel 6gbs port lol.

i've been looking at getting a intel 510/SATA 3 SSD but have been put off for the same reasons. I hear if you just let Windows install the default driver for the marvel controller is helps a bit (i.e. you get a bit more speed from it). Also I don't think the marvel controller fully supports trim.

i run benchmarks and you get well i did a lot better performance with the marvel drivers....so i installed them...i really cant understand why they havent brought out a x58 board with intel 6gb port stupid really.
