Anyone used this?

Have just bought a Corsair P256 SSD, which sounds like a 256 gb version of this :-)

Is there any advantage to getting one of these if you have an ssd?

This part intrigued me.

I have also ordered a Perc 5i card, and will be raid 5ing 5 1TB hard disks. So I am also wondering if this offers any benefit for that?

Had a look on google, and it seems that early 2006 versions of this weren't very popular.

Not sure if its improved since then though?

This article refers to a 'new' turboboost function in Vista (this is in 2008). So wonder if there was any better implementation of this in windows 7?

IIRC, Turbo Memory is Intel's own hardware implementation of Vista's ReadyBoost feature, which allows you to use a removable flash drive as extra memory.

If you've got a decent amount of memory though, I doubt you'll need to use ReadyBoost, and buying more memory is probably cheaper than getting one of these cards.

As I understand it this is correct.

Hawker
