Intel wants to play around with Mantle

I believe there are already 2 threads about this. 
People are missing or willfully ignoring AMD's message, they've said Intel can have a look once the closed beta ends. Although they've also said that they won't release the spec to a working group so it will never be fully open.

They could just keep it in beta though, so thats just to save face from a PR perspective.

Intel want in on everything, to be fair
james, AMD made a public commitement to make MANTLE open source, and with no licence fee, they didnt deny intel the use of Mantle, they just told them this is a closed beta, it will be open in 4-5 months you can have it then, and huddy in his interview explained why, the beta is for projects going forward by developing on Mantle, intel HD architecture is different from Nvidia and AMD graphics, so intel having access to Mantle now wouldn't help them and they wouldn't do anything with it, and in the end it wouldn't advance the developement of Mantle, keep in mind that the beta is there to find things to fix or to improve on Mantle before it's launch, what's the point of having intel that wouldn't do any of that.
and before jumping into conclusions, take the public statement made by AMD, and when it's released and then start judging them if they dont open it.

Yeah, everything reads fine except the focus on the 'several times' which could be three to three thousand. If they are getting impatient they just need to wait, like everyone else. If intel really wanted to flex their muscles they could just buy it with the coffers of money they have knocking about.
yea, personaly i believe that if AMD declined for now , is because Intel had no project to benefit the beta, they just wanted to take a peak, maybe they have an internal project similar or something, if they had anything beneficial to the beta state they would have made it in i think.
Imo AMD dont want to many like intel on it atm as if it it was widely adopted early on by other vendors There would be more push for it to become open and run by a third party and not remain under AMD's control
Why i think its a bit sad intel wasnt admitted is while most of us may use a dedicated card for gaming a lot dont and it would be a good boost to a lot of gamers,, plus Intel might of wanted to see what was needed and if their current hardware could run on it or they would need to change their hardware down the line

I appreciate its a closed beta and that amd want it under wraps to fine tune, but Intel aren't a games developer or publisher, they're arguably one of the finest chip designers on the planet, given that mantles core feature is increased and better managed calls from the CPU, would it not have been of massive benefit to amd to let Intel have a look over it and potentially highlight improvement areas while the api is still in a development phase? Or are they that obsessed with polishing their turd CPUs with mantle that they don't want Intel to gain any more improvements?

Read people, AMD have not denied Intel access to anything, Mantle is still in closed loop BETA and AMD have stated, quite clearly that when Mantle moves out of BETA and is ready for public release then Intel can have all the access they want.
Which means atm they are denied , i dont think anyone has suggested they will be forever ,,eg once its out of beta they can have access
AMD never intended to share Mantle, they just said they were open to it because they knew Nvidia would never take them up on it (just like they have never approached Nvidia over their offer to share PhysX) so would generate bad press for them, however they forgot about the blue team lol.
Exactly this. AMD have stated that Mantle is in closed beta with select developers. This turns into "Mantle is closed source and always will be" in the mind of the conspiracy theory nutjobs.
