Intel Xeon

Well this will get moved but this stuff is for workstations that do a lot of rendering, compiling and ... workstationy stuff. :p
 
You can do gaming with Xeon chips, but generally they cost so much more than the mainstream desktop chips that people don't buy them for that.
 
Desktop socket Xeons are just Core i7s or Core 2 Quads really. I had a Xeon X3350 (Core 2 Q9450) for a year and it ran everything fine.
