Intelliplug and New Computers

Anyone else using an Intelliplug with a relatively new computer?

I ask because I installed all my new stuff, and I guess when the CPU down clocks to save power, it saves too much. The Intelliplug thinks my PC is off, and it turns off the other sockets; my speakers, monitor, etc.

Spec is:

3770k
MSI MPower Z77
8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
HD6950 2GB
128GB Samsung 830
3x 1TB HDD
Sound card
TV card

A little google suggests you should plug in the USB lead if your main device does not draw enoungh current to be detected. Pick one thats not set up to char when the PC is off though

Ah then you got the standard plug and are boned.

I would say turn off the smart step function so you draw more power but that kind of nullifies the whole point

I have a smartplug that did the same when I went to an i5 from an i7. So I bought a standard 10 plug extension.
