Intensive Driving Courses

Question for all you drivers out there...

Say I'm driving along a road in 3rd or 4th gear and the lights ahead go red is it best to start dropping down through gears and then come to a stop or is it best to stay in gear, brake and come to a stop then put it into Neutral or 1st?

Only reason I ask is because I go down through the gears when on my motorbike and slowly roll to the line with clutch in, I'm just not sure if there's a right or wrong way in a car

Cheers

I was taught to stay in the same gear and depress the clutch just before stopping. Didn't take long for me to start downshifting again after passing!

Getting used to the clutch with my left foot was a challenge, it seemed so clumsy after being accustomed to the fingertip control you get on a bike but after a while it's fine.

Another tip: You don't need to lean into corners :)

It will be a challenge to get used to the controls at first but hopefully I get to grips with it quickly...

:p ill try remember not to lean into corners, do I need to take my crash helmet? *:p
