Interesting development in 3d

This is the technology used in the 3DS, it's been in testing for quite some time already really. It's a bit odd that they've done an article about it now as if it's new. Maybe I'm missing something though?
 
Id rather wear glasses than watch 3D from a source like a 3DS as it makes me feel sick, the other issue is viewing angles, toshiba have launched a glasses free 3D tv, i think harrods stock them in the uk as its not cheap.
 
would love to see that tv in harrods may have to pop in when passing by :)

I dont belive 3d without 3d glasses is gonna be as good though

Never seen one my self but it would be interesting. I have seen a early glasses free LCD at the 2011 Panasonic launch show in London, just like the article it had poor viewing angles with only a few sweet spots, but when you did find one, it wasn't as good as active 3D
 
yeah and panny are usualy good with there high end ips panels with good viewing angels so quite a change, the cons are sounding not so good ;)

Active is where its currently at for now...

Tbh i dont think it was a pana display as the badge was taped over, it was just there to show the difference, they also had Sony and Samsung tv's to compare which at the time were poor.
