Interesting WOW proposition

Thought of something last night to possibly overcome my boredom and that of others who are fed up with their mains and the easyness of WOTLK. Looked through the WOTLK thread and seems quite a few people looking to start over from level 1 and do something different.

With Patch 3.2 you have the ability to turn off your xp, meaning you can pretty much force your account into being a classic account, then a tbc account etc etc. I miss those good old classic AQ40 raiding days and BWL.

The idea
It involves making a guild (server and faction to be agreed) and sticking to pre tbc content only, at least until it has been done to death and we have nothing else to do, then we would upgrade to TBC content.

I dont have time to be guild leader due to my work commitments, but i would be happy to set one up and then pass the leadership on to someone capable of managing it well.

Requirements

1/ You must turn your xp off at 60
2/ You cant not take your professions over 300
3/ You can not use TBC gear or enchants
4/ You can not go through the dark portal to Outland
5/ No Draenei, Belf or DK allowed
6/ Max 41 point talents

If this interests you then please post here stating which faction you would prefer, type of server and class/race (i would rather it be one of the newer realms like Saurfang).

If doing classic raiding at level 60 for the forseable future doesnt interest you, please stay away. Last time i tried to do this, it started well but then peeps just started thinking of their e-peens and wanting to level to 80.

Im keen for this to stay casual, i have not got the time to pile hours and hours every night into the game anymore, hence why i left my main.

I will start off :-

Server: PVE (non rp)
Faction: Alliance
Race: Human
Class: Paladin (tank or dps)

Ultimately, as long as i can tank or dps, im not that bothered if its Horde either :p

Problem is, all the talents have been set up to be "balanced" at level 80. At level 60 the talents make content at that level a lot easier than it used to be and there's not much you can do about it as talent trees are pretty much totally different these days to how they used to be.

The game has changed a hell of a lot since the good old raiding days at level 60.

Talents are vastly different, chars can produce massive DPS compared to a few years ago for starters.

Nice incentive, there is a guild that have been doing this for a long time.

I think that the WotLK talent trees are going to make doing preTBC stuff really easy. TBH, it wasnt that hard to start with. Also, are you going to allow the 51 pt talents?

Sadly you wont get many people who will want to do vWow raids at level60. I wish raiding was still like that but sadly its not :(. If it ever does I might play wow again :o

41 point talents it is then!

Yes i realise it will be a bit easier due to the "casualification" of the game, but it will still be good retro stuff.

there's been a few guilds doing this historically - it might be worth having a look around and see if there are other people planning a similar thing.

Personally, the thought of running MC at level 60 again makes me want to gouge my eyes out...

might be interested in this as i never got to experience any of the old raids in WoW. Yes i know the talents are different and it won't be the same, but seeing as i never had any experience in these raids it won't matter to me :)

Hunter is my class of choice :)

I might be interested in this, but nothing massively hardcore, just a bit of fun in the old instances.

Not sure about class, race, or faction - would have to think about it.

But PvE/RP server ONLY, thanks. ;)

I would also be interested in doing this.

Hunter is also my choice class, like you no time to run a guild. didnt back then so i have missed all raids pre gneragon lol. I normally play on pve and solo or play with mates when their on, but as a casual player.
Would be interested in re-doing the low level stuff as i know a mate of mine would be also.

If you're overcome with boredom take a very long brake from the game. Wait for the next expack, I stopped play for a year or so. Only to start playing again and the game is great again, the old stuff was good but it will never be the same again.

Interested in this but I think you'll struggle to get 40 people for naxx and AQ40.

Also don't think there's any point in restricting to 41 point talents with all the other changes that have come in since vanilla.

Subscribed to thread anyway.

I'd be happy to play through level 60 dungeon's but not happy about locking my xp.

I'm more then happy to run the old world instances.

I really enjoyed vanilla WoW :) let me know what's happening.

if you dont lock your xp, you will level and therefore not be level 60 ;)

and therefore the raid would not be a classic raid, as your char stats would be higher than it should be had the expansions not been released.
