Interference with new mb.

ive been upgrading my system bit by bit and recently found a great deal on a z270 motherboard that I’ve it into my system. The problem is that since I introduced the new board, while Ir all seems to work great with my 7600k, when I go into a game, even at stock settings, I get stuttering and stalling. I am due to upgrade the graphics card (an old hd7870 xt) shortly, but I didn’t have these issues before. My question is, is this just symptomatic of a graphics card dying or should I look more closely at the mb? Is there anything else I can do to check this?

Power supply can cause stuttering issues if it's unable to supply a stable voltage.

I hadn’t considered that. Psu is an old Thermaltake toughpower 775w and has been perfect up to now but it is getting on a bit. The new board has rgb as well so could be pulling slightly more power...

Did you reinstall Windows with your new board?

No. I did remove the old software etc. But I didn’t bother to reinstall. I’ve bern wondering about driver conflict though so I might try a new boot disk with a fresh install and see if that helps.

you could sysprep it and go thru the driver install procedure

I'd do a fresh install, it's fairly quick these days and will save all the troubleshooting should re-installing/deleting drivers not work.
