Just bought some flowers and wine to be delivered to the GF tomorrow on Interflora, not looking at reviews prior to spending £40 I just ordered them. Quite excited to see my GFs face when they show up I looked at some reviews just for interest, well I wish I never now!!! Ohhhhh dear, I am hoping I have not wasted £40 :(

I thought they were meant to be the best? Guess not, don't go by word of mouth do a bit of internet research first.

Interflora are just a delivery agents these days, aren't they? i.e. the flowers aren't provided by them, they simply deliver them.

Also, are you advising us to do a bit of research when your post is about doing exactly the opposite? Or is that the moral of the story? I'm so confused.

Moral of the story, look at reviews before you buy, which should be common sense! :( My case I did not, just bought them then looked at reviews..

you have good florists and you have bad ones, Interflora take orders and send out to them and take a cut for processing customer support advertising etc. They have standards for membership, set flower counts for each flower for advertised products of what should go in, substation rules for florists if certain types aren't available. A few years back they started going into mail order which I guess is subject to the delivery companies. Also at peak times well, the reviews seem to show how difficult it can be. They have to reply on florists telling them they don't have stock, can't take any more, can't deliver in time etc. Given it's a non peak time (ok well Easter but that's hardly peak flower delivery) I imagine (and hope) you'll be ok.

True, people 99% of the time (IMO) when they review a company are doing so because they feel let down or want to moan, I hope they give me a very good experience because some of the reviews don't seem to impressive!

Seriously? You are already complaining about them before they've even carried out their service? Get a grip. There's a reason they are the World's number 1 flower delivery service. They wouldn't be if they were terrible. Like ANY company, things will go wrong from time to time. I've used them multiple times and never had a problem.

Also, people generally review things when they are bad rather than good/acceptable.

What is it with the awful threads today?

You know Interflora uses local florists right? They are essentially a booking "agent", you order (book) the flowers, they have deals with local florists up and down the country who deliver them to you.

Therefore reviews should be subjective depending on area and florist used.

The mrs has sent flowers with Interflora a few times for birthdays/deaths etc. She says only once were the flowers a disappointment (aside from flowers being a useless cop out gift but heyho). Apparently Interflora are just the pimps, they set you up with individual independent and chain florists in your area who are signed up to their scheme. The quality is usually good enough, and on the occasion she got some duff ones sent to someone they quickly refunded the money

People usually turn to the internet when there is a problem, few post to say their experience was just smashing

This is true, I used to collect flowers from a many nurseries booked under interflora.

Just don't buy flowers online from Blooming Delightful, because believe me, you won't be delighted when the flowers don't turn up, and if they do they're dead.

Ive ordered across continents before using them and they have always found a local florist that delivered.

weird thing to moan at.

I ordered my wife some roses for Valentines Day and they arrived on time. I can't claim to know much about flowers, but they were rather impressive, looked expensive (they were) and lasted 2 weeks.

It's all down to whoever the local florist they're using is however.

Not tried them cross continent.

Ordered from 2 different local Florists in KL and they were both great delivering to my Partner's Work address.

The best one was ordering from the crap Oil Rig Wi-fi of fail on the Sunday before Valentines (Tuesday) and they delivered on the Monday PM. Malaysian Win!

Used interflora, never seem to get the order right.

Last time i used them they delivered a huge bouquet destined for another woman (With what we think was a proposal written on it) only to ring up 2 hours later, say they had delivered the wrong ones and needed to get them back and give the right ones.

Obviously pretty naff, shouldnt happen at all. Sent a snotty email and get a full refund though so cant complain, but wouldnt use again.

Edit: Think they used a third party florist though thinking back.
