Interior doors

Nearly bought two new interior doors but decide to check the height, my doors are 2010mm tall but the ones I'm seeing at places like Wickes etc are 1981mm tall.
What am I missing?

Are they a standard width?

I had limited choice because my internal doors are metric rather than imperial. They're all 2040mm tall.

Yes. I have now found some but 2m seems to limit choice.

1981 is standard size for internal doors. Your door frames were fitted too high.probably the chippy/fitter did not cut them to size
An option is for you to add piece of door lining to the frame head to lower the height

1981 is an old imperial door height, so a lot of the diy sheds carry those as they are the most common, metric door heights are 2040

Do they actually use metric doors on new build houses?

I had to deal with metric doors on my 80s built house. If every house built since then had been used metric doors I would think that they'd be far easier to get hold of than they are. I did wonder if it was something they tried but then gave up on.

I work in the construction industry (chippy)not large sites though and i cannot remember EVER hanging a 2040 door.Are they a similar `odd`width?

They're 626mm to 926mm wide in 100mm increments.

They're also 40mm thick.
