Intermittent network (?) problem

Basically I have to perform a ipconfig /flushdns command on my machine - sometimes once every few days, maybe once or twice an hour.

The biggest problem is with YouTube. Sometimes it'll say loading video, and sit there forever. As soon as I flushdns and refresh the page, it works.

Today, the problem seems to have spread to MSN and general Internet browsing. Worse still, it only seems to be my computer with this problem.:rolleyes:

I've restarted the cable modem (ntl: 250) and my router (Linksys WRT54GS v1.1 running Tomato 1.07) - but this doesn't usually work. :(

Looking forward to your suggestions!

Have you tried to specify your DNS servers manually in your network TCP/IP configuration? You can specify DNS server and still get your IP address from DHCP.

I usually add my current ISP's DNS server and I also throw in some of my old ISP's and some BT ones. This means I hardly ever suffer from any DNS problems.

Under the advanced tab you can add more than 2 DNS server's and in which order it will use them. Its great if your ISP is suffering from DNS issues it will fall back on another DNS server and hopefully it will keep you surfing the net.
