Internal Application for current job

I need help wording answers for my current 'internal application' for another department:
Re-Working: Explain how you would:

Ensuring desktop systems are kept up-to-date

How would you answer that? I can't say to ensure all security settings are up to date with the latest software and leave it at that...

What is your understanding of:

Desktop Patch release management

"Ensuring desktop systems are kept up-to-date" is that an actual question? seems more like a statement than a question

those look like the job description, not questions. if you snipped those out of a question, how about writing all of it so we can see in what context?

Exactly...

Giving an answer on 'Ensuring desktop systems are up to date' depends on the question. Is it how do you it, or why you do it, or both? Or is it show your experience in doing this.

I understand what the terms mean, I meant how do you word it?

I have answered it as my own pc, such as keeping windows up to date (Updates) and security software up to date to ensure the machine is up to date with the latest security alerts etc. Just not sure if that would be a good enough answer.

Desktop Patch Release Management - I answered it honestly, I have not had much experience with this but is something I would like to learn more to help me within my job role.

Was looking for help to 'improve' how my answer sounded, and yes, I could have worded my post better Im sorry.

Can a MOD please close this thread now as I have found what I needed to find out.

The whole point we are making was what was the actual question?!?

I see you have since edited your opening post to include the words "Explain how you would" and "what is your understanding of" which makes it a little easier to give advice as now there is an actual question to answer!

It just asks what is my understanding of Desktop Patch Release Management. I have may have done it in the past by being told to do something in a previous job but not known what it actually is, if that makes sense? I could google it and read through endless amounts of stuff, but I thought I would ask for a general idea of what it involves, and then if I have done it before, I can answer what I did and my own understanding of it, and if I have never done it, then I can explain it is something I have not done but would like to learn.

Doesnt matter now anyway as I have submitted my application.

yeh there we are, if u had of said that in the first place. quite simple to answer, either you dont understand it or you understand parts of it or you understand it totally. so you then describe in detail what you know/your experience e.t.c
