Internal Doors

Can anyone recommend a decent Internal Door supplier, solid wood not hollow, painted white preferably already. Not necessarily Fire Doors but solid.

We also have some awkward sizes to contend with 204cm by 73cm

Found a Cottage Door Panelled for £80 each via B&Q

It would be good to find an alternative though

We bought doors from Buildbase for our last house. I think they were these - oak veneer with engineered inners.

Weighed a ton and the joiner we had fit them was impressed by the construction.

Jeld-Wen are meant to be good as well.

I've just fitted 4 cheap hollow JeldWen doors, they look alright for the money.

Mine are also 2040 x 726 and I found choice pretty limited compared to some other sizes.

Id recommend Howdens. Replaced all my internal doors, quality seems v. good.
Decent weight to them.
I was also able to purchase a single door no problem

I used XL Joinery internal oak doors when I was doing alterations to my bungalow.

They also do white primed doors. Think they are of the type of construction you are looking for.

These to me look the same as the doors which kingfisher (B&Q/Tradepoint) sell as "cottage oak", does anybody know if this is the case?

You need to look at the door thickness and also usually the cheaper doors have thinner veneers.

I got B&Q oak doors recently, 2 for £150. They are manufactured elsewhere and sold by B&Q. If you call B&Q they will tell you who by.

They are 27kg and my carpenter said they were as good as anything else from Howdens etc he has used.

If you're using heavy doors make sure to get some heavy duty hinges. I went to a job last week and the door was already scraping on the floor after a few months as they used cheap brass hinges.

Where are you seeing this mate? I need to buy a load of doors but im only seeing this which is the same price as tradepoint (75ea at tradepoint)

Got ours from Howdens too through the joiner, all cottage style. Not cheap at about £160ea I think, but good!

We have these all through and I don't think we paid more than £75 a door. Was a few years ago so I expect they have gone up a bit. Nice doors.
