I want to set up a small virtual network to have a play about with ad and group policy etc and I'm having a bit of bother getting it all to work
I've got windows 2003 setup, completely from scratch as my domain controller (virtual.com) and it's been set up with ad, dhcp and dns. I've installed two fresh xp clients but I just can't get them on the domain... I get a dns error! I've also noticed that the automatic ip's the two client machines have aren't in the range that has been allocated in the server's dhcp scope.
I can post a pic later, but I've got a feeling it's only going to be something simple or something I've missed out? I've built loads of physical test networks in the past and I've never had issues this early on
