i desperatly need a new hard drive, as i have only about 10gb left on my 250gb western digital. Question is, do I go for an internal hard drive or an external hard drive. Will be going for SATA II if its internal but question is, do external suffer in terms of speed? Will be used for DVD and music storage mainly so just wanna know the pros and cons. Cheers.

Also what are Hitachi hard drive like these days? Here a lot of good things about Samsungs though. the 500gb one any good (samsung)

Internal is cheaper, if it's external SATA it'll be the same speed. If you don't need to transport data about just buy a drive and fit it into your case.

basically I want a nice quiet hard drive lol. unfortunatly I have to buy from a big purple shop (no other option), but i'll look at internals tmrw.

Comes with a ext sata PCI bracket for your PC as well ;)
