Whats your alliegence with International or Club football. I think since May time we have had International overkill with pre world cup warm ups, The World Cup finals. The first internationals then of the new season in August then four qualifiers all before the Middle of October

I must admit my allegiences lie more with club than country. I find International football to be a little stale in comparison to club football. Dont get me wrong I hope they do well but purely from a selfish point of view id be happier to have less internationals and let the domestic season flow.

Thoughts & opinions ????

More with Club 99% of the time, especially with as many warm up matches and qualifiers were having at the moment breaking up the season, but as soon as the world cup/europien champs start then I turn into a raging england loon!

Having said that if I could choose between england winning the world cup and liverpool winning the prem it would be tough, I think I would go with club but there wouldent be much in it.

I love internationals, always have done, even during the dark days.

Because of where I live most of my mates support different teams (Rangers, Celtic, Hearts and Aberdeen mainly) and being able to cheer together every now and then is something I couldn't do without.

I think part of it is to do with the general attitude towards our national team, we don't expect to win every game so we make sure we have a great time regardless of the result. We savour our victories and never dwell on defeat. I love club football, but it's nothing compared to supporting Scotland.

There's too many 'non-event' games at international level where England just can't get a result that will make people happy. They're usually against the kind of opposition that everyone assumes we should beat so if we win then it's expected, if we fail to win it's the biggest disaster ever.

Games that you can actually get excited about only ever come around once every couple of years at the finals of a tournament.

International

Club football in Scotland (when you don't support Celtic, Hearts or Rangers) is rather dull with little to no hope of winning anything

I think Utd winning the Champions League over England in the world cup would just about seal it for me

Club > International

Always will be, especially when you are from N.Ireland.. ;) lol

I think International football always has the potential to be even better but alas it always seems to disappoint me. Top teams underperforming, small teams outplaying big teams, something just isn't right in the world of international football these days.

International tourney's are awesome, there's always a fantastic atmosphere in the pubs (at least around me) where you get people from all countries having a bit of banter and getting involved, the World Cup was brilliant :) Friendlies I can take or leave as well as qualifiers which usually consist of 'good' teams playing underwhelmingly against 'poor' teams playing 11 behind the ball defensive football in the hope of getting a draw or a shock 1-0 result.

To be fair though I like the Champs league and F.A. cup too, I think it's just early on in the league I don't find it that interesting as there's isn't really much tension apart from the local derbies, much better towards the end of the season where teams are fighting to stay up, or for the top spot/European places.

I much prefer club and i shall be concentrating on club football ONLY from now on. I honestly cannot get excited anymore about England. I just find it so hard to cheer players from other rival teams whilst they're playing for England.

I'm also sick and tired of getting my hopes up about England in major tournaments. I now realise they're nothing more than an average side of prima donnas that are unable to play as part of a team.

International for me

Although I would love to see spurs win the champs leage (waits for laughter)
I would prefer it if england won the world cup.

I always get fired up during england games admittly I have found it hard with the last couple of games.

Club football. International football is a waste of time.

QUOTED FOR TRUTH.

I guess in days gone by it's always been an honour to play for your country and nothing superceded it. However football isn't quite that game anymore. Club sides play more often over two years, and more importantly they pay the player's wages from the fans etc. (I gotta confess I don't know what happens to England's match revenues..)

I find International football stale as well; the world cup was great while it was on but afterwards I forgot it and found myself looking forward to what Arsenal would be doing this season.

I can appreciate national pride etc, so that's why I'm not too bothered about tournaments every two years and their qualifiers, but I see no need whatsoever for friendlies during the domestic season. Put them in July/June during the blank years or do away with them.

I find watching any Internationals a lot easier when one of Arsenal's players aren't involved, which isn't that easy because all of our first team is at least a squad player for a country. I usually watch an international hoping that they pick up suspensions allowing them to rest for us, or hoping that nobody gets injured which would affect the club side the player plays for. E.g. Michael Owen, Senderos etc.

I would also like the domestic season to flow better, just as soon as Arsenal get a good run going we're interrupted

 You have to Qualify first :p

Has anyone heard about the Spurs European Travel Ban?

Spurs fans have reportedly been banned from the away legs in this years UEFA cup campaign, apparently this is due to trouble on the ferries last time they were in Europe.
