Hi there sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread, i wasn't too sure where to put it.

Anyway as the title suggests, when i download or upload or sometimes even when internet pages are loading, it causes interference on my TV. I wouldn't really have considered this too weird but the fact is a few days ago it hadn't done this since i moved everything into this room nearly a year ago. It dawned on me it could be to do with the NTL to virgin media switchover.

Anybody know why this is happening? Just an aging TV showing the affects of time? Its a big old 32inch Bush TV, didnt think it was in bad shape or anything, few years old.

Cheers for any info u can provide

I have cable from NTL running into the back of my TV. I do have wireless internet but its in the other room, my pc in this room is hooked up to the router via ethernet. I just thought it was very odd as it seemed to just start one day for no apparent reason and his stayed that way since.

Could be a capacitor going in the PSU.

I had one a few years ago, whenever the CPU wasn't idling and drew more power, e.g. opening new window etc., a bad capacitor in the PSU would whine. This caused interference that was visible as lines on the TV.

Changed the PSU, everything fine afterwards.

the way to tell is to unplug the router and switch it off

if switching the router off stops the static, you've got an answer

if it doesnt, its probably a faulty V box.
