Internet Connection Timing Out

I don't have the best description of this because im trying to help someone else but basically their internet connection times out after a while and the only solution they have found to bring it back is restarting the PC. If they idle on a page reading for a long time they then progress on to a new page and the internet is not working.

It also does not work if the PC has been left on for a while without activity. Its running Windows XP and the mobo is the Gigabyte GA-945GZM-S2 and has a Marvell 8001 Gigabit Ethernet controller.

What's the machine connected to? Is the internet connection still up?

Its connected to a Netgear DG834G via Ethernet cable, other PCs on the LAN can connect to the net fine but this one seems to have trouble sometimes.
