Eh, if you're over 40ish, divorced sounds better than single.

Divorced says that at least one women has thought you were a good catch.

Single implies that you can't get a girlfriend, or aren't the kind of guy to commit to any.

If you look at most tv shows/films etc, the romantic interest for older women is typically a divorced man, usually who's wife has died or cheated on him/has all the blame for the break up etc.
