Internet dropping problem

So this problem has been happening for 2-3 weeks now, without any new software or hardware changes.

2-5 times a day my internet will drop and it's instantly fixed with a simple unplugging my ethernet cable and re plugging it into the switch. I have about 5-6 computers on the same switch and no one has the problem with it only me. I need a stable wired connection and I don't know what else i can do to find a 'fix' for it. I have tried a different ethernet connection and no joy. Any suggestions?

what router are you using and the type of connection? Have you tried updating the router firmware?

There are a number of possibilities but you might have to give a little more detail!

Sounds to me like dodgy NIC drivers or some dodgy power saving settings on the PC turning it off.

Simple step to fixing it would be update the drivers, then go into device properties on the NIC and disable any power saving. I.E set everything to always on and untick anything that says "allow windows to turn this device off to save power"

No idea why people are talking about updating router firmware etc when 6 other PCs work fine on it. You are correct in diagnosing that it's definitely something wrong with your PC.
