Internet Explorer 7 Network Install

Hi,

We are looking to deploy IE7 to our Windows Server 2003 network with XP Pro Clients however we can't find any way to create an administrative installation point for it. A lot of our software is now pushed out by group policy and most of our software packages allow us to do this.

I can't even find a workaround though, even after a good few hours on google. Automatic updates are not enabled so thats out and im not running the setup file on 300 machines, 50 laptops and about 40 tablet PCs

Any ideas?

Have you tried the Internet Explorer Administration Kit 7 from the sounds of it, it should do what you need.

Why on gods earth aren't you running a Windows Server Update Services server?

I looked at that this morning but it's only in BETA isn't it?

You'll be better of installing and configing Windows Server Update Services in the long run.

Beta? Its on version 2!

Version 3 is on Beta.

If you don't know, its centralised distribution of Windows Updates. An absolutly great piece of kit. Seriously look into it

Yeah, using a wuss server is probably the best way. You won't have to worry too much about un-patched PCs either.
