Just updated to this...
Seems like they've missed a few tricks on this one unfortunatly!

Firstly, the new Tab button... I seen it, seen the little windows then got excited thinking of Operas Tabs customisability...

Until i went fishing around and found that this can't be edited or changed to your "Favourite" windows, unfortunatly.

Can't fault how clean it looks though! very nice!

Just wondering anyones thoughts of it??

Some forums, such as BT for example, and the website editing program CMS, and it's derivatives, will currently only work in 'compatibility mode', but I think that is down to a failing in the programmes thenselves, rather than with Microsoft!

i stopped useing IE a few years ago.
its so full of holes, its like swiss cheese :p

If you stopped using it 'a few years ago' how can you really comment about any potential holes that it may, or may not have? Seeing as there has been two version releases in the last few years.

lol yeah all those "you may be at risk"
i have been using it in the years you havent and never had a problem
the word you need to focus on is MAY, its not if you us IE "you will be at risk"

IE is so slow

not slow here and when i have tryed FF it didnt feel any faster

IE9 is not slow. It has some security holes. Guess what, so do the others!

It is not perfect, but it is a great browser and definitely several steps in the right direction for Microsoft. They got complacent for many, many years and have done a great job of releasing a credible alternative to Chrome and FF.

It renders images faster than firefox and chrome in my opinion. It's what i've used and always will... Only reason i stopped was when it was crashing. which was due to google toolbar and some compatability issuies.

The first thing I do when installing an update or whatever from sites such as Adobe, is to untick the option to install that blasted Google tool bar.

Apart from the minor problem I mentioned earler I am also quite impressed with IE 9, but I am a bit of a Microsoft 'fan' anyway! ;)

It seems very fast (at least on their own benchmarks) and certainly has a few required features. But the fact that i can't easily re-open a closed tab (without opening a tab and then going and I tried to get it to save and restore browsing sessions but that didn't work out either.. and a fwe other niggling details that makes it inferior to Chrome at the mo.

I think most people thoughts were made clear once they discovered MS' own web page had a line telling it to run in compatibility mode for IE 8. Even MS doesn't support it :)

I found it constantly hanging on apples movie trailers last week. This may have changed seeing as I gave up :p

the tabs are starting to annoy me now, when you have multiple tabs open, and go to click on one of them, it is far too easy to close the tab by accident.

other than that im pretty happy with it.

As a firefox advocate, i'm somewhat impressed by IE9, its certainly a step in the right direction.
I'm not anywhere close to leaving the fox but its good as a backup browser.

MS really screwed themselves over by leaving ie6 to rot.

Ok tried IE9 and its pretty good. The ad blocking is reasonable but no where near as good as FF4 as it doesn't block al adds like firefox does. For example on the youtube homepage I have two massive white gaps where ads normaly are in IE9 while FF4 doesn't show any spaces.

IE9 is brilliant, however i just love how fast Chrome is that i wont be switching over any time soon. I stopped using Firefox when it became bloated slow-wear. The most recent incarnations are better but still not good enough. I can still recognise that IE9 is much, much better than its forebears.

Trolls will as trolls will. Ignore them for what they are: morons.
