Over the past couple of weeks I've been having serious issues with IE that I just can't pin down.
Bascially 32bit IE maxes out my cpu whenever I do anything, including hovering the mouse over a button even before I click it. It runs sooo slow its pretty much unusable. However 64-bit IE runs perfectly, (I'm running Vista HP 64bit BTW).
So far I've tried restoring my system back before the last windows update/software install and even to the begining. I've even done a full clean install of vista. Both of these seemd to fix the problem for a few hours and then it returned. I've used the restore factory settings option in ie's settings again it fixes it for a few mins but then quickly the problem comes back.
To put it mildly I'm stumped, even more so given that 64bit IE runs great. It wouldn't be much of a problem if it weren't for the fact that some websites (those that use flash etc) won't work properly with 64bit IE.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this issue and/or have any solutions? As I said before, I'm now totally stumped.
