Hello,

I have an odd problem where I keep losing connectivity, but only to websites, games and my pop email account - I am still connected to Skype and torrents.

This usually happens when someone connects to the network, but it also happens at other times for no reason!

The only way to fix this is to reset the router, which is a pain as I lose all connections!

My ISP is Pipex, who are AWFUL - they use traffic shaping on me during peak periods, but that said, this problem happens at anytime.

I have a D-Link DSL-G604T router and I am connected via an ethernet cable.

Any solutions?!

Yes, but I don't use torrents often - my torrent client is fired up about once a month if that, it's rarely running on my PC yet internet fail happens daily.

There are 3 computers on our network, 2 are on almost all the time and the other is on periodically.

Unfortunately I am not in control of the ISP, so we'll have to wait 'til the contract is up.

It was fine for a while, then all of a sudden we just got capped - HARD! No emails, no nothing. I even phoned them up to suggest that I'd been capped and the guy couldn't help me, he told me to unplug all other phone devices - sky etc for 24 HRS then try again. :(
