Internet keeps dropping

Hi Guys,

Over the last few months my internet connection keeps dropping, this can be reconnected by clicking the troubleshoot problems button in the network internet access tab in the bottom right hand corner of the toolbar (Win 7).

I have a netgear router and when it is down i can still access it and the internet connection seems to be stable but my brother still gets the intermittent issue as well.

Does anyone have any ideas?

is the netgear router getting hot at all? people have had problems when they overheat. A few more details would help too....
 
Is the router lossing connection or the pc?

If its the router, you might be synched to high, and will need top ask your isp to lower your synch speed.

Yes you lose speed, but a stable line, is better than a line that keeps dropping.

If its the Pc losing its connection, you could buy a ethernet card, and that should solve your issue
 
Right, when the internet connection drops i can still access the router (192.168.0.1 in address bar) and the router still shows as connected to the internet.

Any ideas?
 
It may be a problem with the network drivers on your PC a friend of mine had to reset the adapter on the PC everything he connected to the internet(wired as well)
