Internet socket that brings wifi into the house, is there a slimmer one?

The other problem with people referring to internet as WiFi (happens all the time on our local FB group) is you then get other people being.... I don't know what the correct phrase is.... sort of like a pedant but playing dumb, just responding to questions about "WiFi" literally even though everyone knows from the context the person asking the question must have meant broadband, rather than just politely correcting them "Assuming you mean broadband, bla bla bla".

I'll admit I have on occasion in the past been 'that guy', but sometimes the person on the other end is so oblivious there are no internet points to be won.

Side question. When they come to fit FTTP, can you have the location of the socket moved?
You shouldn't need the socket at all. Unless you don't have digital Voice active and you need the phone line.
I told them not to connect the copper line at all so the master socket is gone. ONT (fiber modem) is under the stairs now out of the way.

I did the same and removed the master socket. The installers drilled a new hole through the brickwork for the FTTP connection to the modem/router. Unfortunately for me my stairs are central in the house so I couldn't easily hide the connection away. Instead I had them drill through behind a unit in the dining room next to a boxed in waste pipe. I put a RJ45 wall socket in that boxed off section and ran the wire up to the loft where it separates out to the bedrooms and CCTV system. So now I've got the standard (and dreadful) Vodafone router covering wifi downstairs and a wired connection to my trusty old AC87U upstairs. Works well, but was a bit of a faff to get setup.

I love how everyone calls the internet wifi these days.
I have some friends on Virgin Media and they also have Virgin Mobile phones. When I first asked some of them if their internet was working, they said yes even though it wasn't - they just didn't bother connecting their phone to their Wi-Fi as they had massive data allowances.

Now I ask them plainly if their VM Wi-Fi is working. Even then I don't get straight answers. :D

I kind of do that, I get more than enough data on my SIMO contract that I just use that on my phone to get my moneys worth. And it frees up my home internet pipe for more goodness too :D
