Hi guys i got my router through today but says my line wont be connected till the 14th does this mean i need to wait till then.

if your line isn't connected until the 14th it doesn't matter what you do - it won't work until then.

It may unofficially be connected earlier if you are lucky. check it every day if u are that eager

Not true, they are quite often activated early.

The last 5-6 times I've activated a new ADSL line it's been active at least 3-4 days before the official date.

Yes. If you read what I said I said "if your line isn't connected until the 14th".
