So, I have my first ever interview for Uni next week! At London South Bank.

I am applying to study a Bsc in Diagnostic Radiography, I am a mature student in mid 20's and just wondering a few things!

What should I wear? I am thinking either a suit or smart trousers and a shirt?

Should I research the uni and be fully prepared like a job interview?

Are they formal affairs or should I be on my best formal work attitude?

Any one else studied at south bank? Have any positive or negative feedback?

I also have not heard back from my other choices, Should I start chasing them up as its getting fairly late in the year and my friends all have offers and inteviews lined up.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Dude.

Eye contact, firm handshake. Research everything you can about the University and the area in which you want to study.

The first three questions should be answered in their letter to you.

If they aren't, then:
wear a suit and tie
be up on the university, and the department as well as your CV
On the day, be as formal, or slightly more formal, than the person interviewing you.

In my experience it's likely to be moderately informal. But I don't have experience of being a mature student applying for an undergrad degree.

Wear a suit, smile, be relaxed and don't respond to any question with "Urm it'll be fun" and you'll be fine.

More often than not they will just want to know how enthusiastic you are for the course and what you want to do at university.

Suit and tie, there's no question about this for an interview unless there's an explicit statement for something else.

Absolutely you should be prepared, it's an interview...

Always be formal and polite, wait to be told to step down the formality since they will if they want to.

Stare deep into their eyes, don't blink then walk up to them. Breathe in and exhale right into their mouth. Walk away and do it again. They will love you also make sure you wear sandals, shorts and a hoodie you get extra points for smelling of weed.
Honestly, just be calm and relaxed. Don't worry you are unlikely to not get into the course because of an interview.

Do this.

They'll love you as a mature student
I'm 28 and had my first 4 interviews recently (undergrad). Use your life experience to you're advantage. Be confident. A suit is a must.
Worked for me!

If they ask what you like to do in your spare time, have some ideas in mind if your hobbies aren't suitable.

One of my friends truthfully said, "going out drinking with my mates."

Another lied and said, "reading". When they were asked what they were currently reading, he couldn't think of a single book, and looked like an idiot.

Hahahaha! That's an impressive pair of mistakes!

Can't believe they couldn't even think of the Hobbit! :p
