Hi there, I've got an interview at 6 o clock. I've been preparing for it, and going through some questions that maybe asked, but one I'm stuck for an answer for is the what are you weaknesses question?

Anybody got a decent answer for this. I can't really think of one?

Help appreciated.

"Along time ago I would have said organisation....however since then i have learnt to set aside 30mins at the beginning and end of the day to work through paperwork and clear my desk. I might even say that i am more organised than 90% of my current colleagues".

Whatever you pick (and it doesn't really matter) always add what you are doing to improve this weakness already.

In my case, I always say time management and a similar response to kiteloopy about spending hald and hour organising my tasks that day into priorities etc

Well for my current job i am in at the mo this question came up and I just said that I can rush things a bit, previously did HR work and getting the damn contracts right was a PITA, so said this and also how I have improved myself by not rushing as much.

"The inability to switch off at the end of a day" tends to work quite well, shows you are dedicated and that it isnt just a job to you. Depends on the context though - if you give that answer to a job for McDonalds you may get some funny looks :)

What he said.

Its always good to show you are aware of your weaknesses (or areas fo rimprovement) it is also a very good idea to turn these into positives.

Its a bit like the training question and what you will need. I once interviewed someone who told me they would need no training in their first year as they knew everything about the job they were being interviewed for... Did they get the job? short answer No (not just because of this answer).

That sounds like good advice. Got a few things in mind to say now.

Thanks very much. Here's to hoping the interviewers like it as well

As has been said they're really just looking for self awareness and pro-activity so choose any example and then demonstrate how you're already tackling it...good luck!

Mine are over-analysing my mistakes... I used it and a week later I got my Supervisors job :D
