Interview Tips

The nerves are natural pal, it's a sign that you actually WANT it :) again, revert to 'driving test nerves'.

I'm guessing your work have been ok with you doing that too? Good on them too if so.

I didn't feel too confident once I'd got the first letters through explaining what would happen. Once I'd done all my research though, it really showed that it paid off as they said they'd heard enough about the Typhoon from me, also stating it's just to show 'we' actually do research so it wasn't a rude stopping and I know I hadn't blabbed on and on... But yeah, I walked out of there feeling pretty awesome I won't lie.

I would revert to driving test nerves but i'm too lazy to pass my theory as i have no need to drive, although i do have my car sat on the driveway

Yeah they are, my manager understands that i have no interest at staying at that job and it's just while i finish college or get a job i actually want. He's pretty awesome like that :P

I saw that on Facebook, it did make me laugh. What a *******!

Ahh thanks, if I knew it was a news story I would have Googled it myself, I assumed it was someones story from these boards. :D

I don't think anyone on here likes the DM. ;)

Yeah formal, so i've got my suit out sent it to the dry cleaners, oh.. and it still fits, don't get to wear a suit often :(

I was meant to be working late the night before but i've told work no, i want an early night.

I'm naturally quite a confident person but this, I don't feel it at all. I will do, i do feel quite positive but it's just because of the size of the company and the amount of other people that I've assumed that have applied.

Do you know where you're going and how long it'll take to get there, especially if it's during rush hour? Make sure you leave plenty of time for unforeseen delays. Arriving late is a big no-no.

If he's got an interview it's a bit late for CV advice m8

I didn't lie on my CV anyway.. I know someone who has done in the past, i didn't go to well for him.

And yes, it's right behind my old workplace, it doesn't take too long to get there and the interview is at 10:30 so no rush hour problems

Very very good piece of advice here. Punctuality is definitely key! Ensure you get there early! I've got to an interview ~30min early before so sat in my car for about 15mins then went in so they knew I was there, still early :) also - there was a guy who basically held mine up because he was over an hour late to his allocated time. <--- same fate for him I imagine... this wasn't where I am currently, in case anyone wanted to know for some reason or another lol

hard to help without seeing the documents they are offering. Do show humility and a keen work ethos. Have a couple of projects events you are proud off and show this.

Take a £10 note out of your shoe and put it into the interviewer's shirt pocket.

Ask them "What would an average day in the job entail?" or similar and then as they explain it to you ask subsequent questions on the details they are giving you.

I have used this technique to great success, it is a good starting point to make yourself look enthusiastic and interested but it also shines a light on them a bit and gives you a breather and a chance to ensure you don’t look desperate and want to know if this company is right for you.

Ask for a glass of water, and when they ask a question take a sip of water.
It'll give you a moment to collect your thoughts, and hydrate you if your mouth goes dry due to nerves.
