Interview tomorrow, Tips welcome :)

to show that you have a high level of experience in the postal service, you should do the secret postman's handshake. you take the interviewers right hand with your left, and plop your penis into their outstretched hand with your right.

also, a mankini is the preferable attire for all interviews

Going over things in the 'ole brain, Here goes...

Interviewer(s): Why do you want to work for RM and what can you bring to the company?

me: With RM having been around since the 1600's I think you have a great understanding of the industry and I would like to join your workforce(team?) so I can thrive in the given enviroment, I can bring a 'great deal'(or wide range??) of skills to RM, Wether working in a team or on my own initiative.

Does that sound reasonable? I want to keep my answer's short, to the point and all positives.

:D

Don't mention when RM was founded, it's a transparent and desperate attempt to gain favour; they won't be impressed that you've managed to look them up on wikipedia.

Im started as a postman about 3 months ago, so I might be helpful here. The questions they asked were all just the standard "give me an example of a time when you..."

I'm a suit and tie person but the royal mail forums suggested smart shirt and trousers, so I went with that, but that was as a university graduate trying not to look like I'd jump ship at the first chance.

Tell us about a time you worked on your own?
Tell us about a time you worked in a team?
Tell us about a time you used your initiative.

I have literally no idea how I'd answer those...

I've done each a millions of times, but it's not as though I keep a diary of them

It's always suit and tie. Always. It's a rule. Let's not revisit this again.

And a very sensible rule it is too. But sometimes breaking it works. :p

It really should be a sticky or something just to make it clear. It's astounding how often it comes up.

Just got back from interview, It went well (I think!)

They score you as you answer the questions, You need a 3 to pass - 5 is excellent, I got an overall 4 so I suppose it could be better, could be worse too :D

They said there's 24 interviewees for 8 positions :(. 33% chance I suppose.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll let you know when I hear the outcome (2-3 weeks).
