Interview Tomorrow @ Toys R Us

Sounds like quite a tough interview! hope you get it!

I worked in a similar role in Makro (cash and carry) and as said above ^ avoid the heavy lifting and till working, especially the heavy lifting it jsut isnt worth putting in 110% effort jsut to lift 2 boxes at once instead of one.

I worked for Toys in their head office in Maidenhead, and looked after all the AS400 systems that run the backbone of the whole Toys network.

Metro store number is 3610 i think? Been over 2 years since i left, but it was a horrible company to work for. However, i think its changed hands a couple of times since then. Once just as i was leaving.

I dont know how the store roles compare, but they always looked miserable when i visited stores!

I really hope the have upgraded the tills, back-office systems and the symbol guns from when i left!

Sounds very similar to the interview I had last xmas for temping, but we had to try and "sell a toy" to the interviewer instead of the poster. I didn't get the job but to be honest I didn't mind, they were interviewing 40 people a day for weeks for what seemed like 20 temp places. Good luck getting the job though :)

Metro centre, toys r us, 11 o clock, tomorrow...

got it

ill be there :D

Hahaha

Go there meet him before his interview and bum him

Go back home wait a couple of hours and then wait for the

"OMGZ!!1 got bummed just before i went into my interview" thread

*Apologies im bored waiting for the football :/

What they put you through to just stack shelves.

Has anyone ever been asked the question why do you want to work for us. Next time I get asked this im gonna say "i'm not gonna lie to you it's the MONEY"

why the hell does toys R us have such an annoying interview just to serve at tills or whatever seems way over the top. the three retail jobs ive had have all just been a one on one interview. seems lame but still sounds like you handled it well. hope you get it mate :)

Adult Learning Grant. Thats 30 quid.. In your pocket ;)

That was it! Damn annoying as it started only about 3 months after I finished college. Would've paid for the fuel plus other essentials (like Cider). And I had a pretty good attendance to get it. Oh well, i'm work now so can't complain really :)

Got a phone call of Toys R Us today while I was on the bus.

They offered me a job in the warehouse part, where people give you tickets and you fetch things through. Sounded good until she said would you be willing to do 24 hours a week, 6pm till 10pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 2pm till 10pm on a Saturday. I was on the bus so didnt have much of a chance to think about it and just said yes ofcourse on the phone. Now that I have thought it over if I did those hours I would have no social life and no time to study for college. Tried ringing back tonight but the person who called wasnt around. Going to ask for either 16 hours or more hours on a Sunday & Monday (i am off college on a monday) and less through the week and Saturday.

Hope we come to some agreement as the job sounds good and the pay is £4.40 per hour.

£4.40?

How old are you?

I dont think ive ever worked for as little as that, seems really low to me dude :/

Edit: I had a paper round once that paid a tenner a week :/

just out of interest do you have an ikea near you?

they hire at 16, and the pay is £6.30 an hour. they will be hiring staff soon

Yes my mate works there on the tills and gets £5.50 per hour.

I am going to apply if Toys R Us wont give me less hours.

To work all evenings and earn £4.40 an hour you would do better just walking into an employment agency and saying "give me anything"

Wow can't believe you had to do all that stuff in that interview. When I had my interview at a local supermarket all I had to do was meet the department manager and fill in a questionnaire. Done and dusted in 15 minutes. Pay seems really **** poor too.
