I've been acquiring lots of holiday this year but work won't let me have any time off till late September (works moaned at me for having so much and then moaned at me for trying to use it

). Any how I've started looking at other jobs but if they won't give me time off for holiday, they're not likely to give me time off for interviewing. So where do I stand ? :confused:

Of course I expect time off, how else am I supposed to go with out phoning in sick, I don't mind if it comes out my holiday. TBH if they ask I'm going to tell them it really doesn't bother me

yeah time in lieau, so far I have 28.5 days

I don't like doing sickies, had to do it for an interview I had about 2 weeks ago and turned down another one today as they wanted me to travel miles at short notice.

We're only allowed one person off a day for the next 2 months in our whole department of about 15 as it's the busiest time of the year.

It's never been a problem in the past as I've always got holiday when I've asked - As I'm being slightly forced into having to do a sickie it doesn't quite seem as bad. Although what sort of disciplinary would you expect to receive for being caught doing a strategic sickie ?

All of December is free so I decided to book the whole of December off and got told I couldn't so I have all this holiday and no way of using it. What makes it worse we don't get overtime we get time in lieu which means I just keep accumulating more :-/

Yup it's use it or loose it

- I have end of Sept to end of the year to use it all up.
