Yesterday an asian fellow came into work with an empty laptop bag and ripped a kensington lock from a laptop and stuck it in his bag, all on CCTV inside the store. Now we cant do nowt with him until he left the store as thats when the offense has been commited so we left the business parks security to deal with him.

They missed their opportunity! He got away

Or so we thought...

Less than 24 hours after he'd stolen a £1000 laptop from our store he comes back in and ASKS if he can get a power adapter for it hahaha.

Needless to say owned!

lol, I can't believe you have to wait for someone to walk out of the shop. Surely with the expection of confused old people (who arn't strong enough to break the kensington locks) no one would break a lock so they could carry a PC to the check out. Or am I overestimating the great unwashed?

It's not until the guy walks out the shop that theft has been committed, but as soon as he rips the lock off of it he could safely be detained and done for attempted theft (which carries the same penalty).

Either he was taking the biscuit or he was just too cocky for his criminal acts.

You know there's an award for Darwin Awards... is there something like this (apart from ADC- we're not in America)? Should find the name and news cover of it and add it to the data base :)

Lol if i saw someone stealing i would like to rugby tackle them into something hard
