I'm trying to work from home but my intranet isn't working and I don't know what settings I need to change to make it work again...

I had this problem before and the IT support guys at work just ticked some boxes under 'Internet Options' and it started working again.

Anyone have any idea??

Thanks

Dear MisChief,

I thought I'd let you you know that this IS the 'General Hardware' forum. The boys in here are well 'ard and haven't seen a bird in donkeys years. - Just saying ;)

ps Try checking autodetect proxy settings but as above everyone sets up their company access differently

If your Intranet is a true Intranet and only accessible on the Internal network then you must have some kind of VPN back to the office? Citrix Access gateway, Citirx Secure gateway, a VPN piece of software etc?

If you just mean the internet then you are probably still pointing at your corporate Proxy server, in which case all you need to do is clear all boxes under Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings.

The below is for Internet Explorer:

I just called up IT support (never knew they were 24/7 :D) and it's all sorted now!

I had to go into 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)' and enter a DNS server address that the guy gave me.

Thanks anyway :)

Oh... so he didn't actually 'fix' fix it? :(

Oh well nevermind... It's only my work laptop anyway, as long as normal internet works on my own personal laptop then I'm not bothered! :D

Well this is the second time it has happened... The first time it was a woman who managed to get it right and fix my settings... This time the guy had changed my settings so that I can't go on the internet without being logged on to VPN. Men huh... useless!!

Joking... :p
