intriguing mod? or crazy!

I can't believe people still ask this question after 10 years of commercial water-cooling :)

It might work for a while but Fridges are not designed to deal with a continual heat load. You will burn out the compressor in short order. There's also condensation to deal with on the cpu, piping etc. More hassle for little gain.

Stop moaning about condensation and man up! :p

(Shamelessly stolen from another overclocking site.)

Real overclockers just get out the Dow Corning / Armaflex and get on with it! If you want to go down the chiller route then you either need to buy one of the chillers from OcUK or pick up one of the purpose-retooled ones (often from pub chiller systems) floating around. It is great fun to play with - I have mine hooked up chilling a TEC, freezing my CPU - worked well and was a blast to play with. The always get diminishing returns on performance as you get towards the extreme end of the performance curve, but it's as much about having fun as it is squeezing every ounce out of your system.

Regarding water cooling burying a big loop of copper tubing a few metres underground in the garden would be viable with 4-6 12v pumps in series. It would certainly be cheaper than running a water chiller. The only problem is drilling holes in the wall...

Ok, how about if you have a concrete floor in your room, run copper pipes through them then into your pc's w/c loop, not only will it cool it you also benefit from underfloor heating!!

idea above sucks..... How would you put copper pipes in concrete floor ??
You need 2 have them there in first place.
But idea itself is good i think.
