Intro game for the wife

To play theme park you would need some kind of third party frame limiter program so the game doesn't run at warp speed, I remember not being able to play it on a Pentium 2 because it was 'too fast'

Thats if it runs at all :)

Second vote for Roller Coaster Tycoon - wasted whole days on that game!

Or how about Zoo Tycoon? Lots of cute furry animals to feed to each other look after. :)

I've given up with mine. I managed to get her to play World of Warcraft for about 5 hours ("something we could do together") until she had to kill something cute. Then it was game over.

Now I just leave her to Scrabble and Candy Crush - although she does like to board-game, surprisingly!

The movies is a good one as suggested. Game dev is also good if shes interested in games development.

As already mentioned earlier, Tropico 4 is the way to go, it pretty much is really user friendly and has the added help of a kind of tutorial all the way through the campaigns. My GF plays this a lot and its helped developed her gaming skill :)

Theme park sounds like it'd be the best one

+1 for Theme Park.

It's been many years since I played it, but I'm pretty sure that first level is a very basic tutorial that allows you to place a couple of rides and a few shops.

As I recall, you can also change the difficulty level so you don't have to worry about micromanaging stock reordering for shops etc. Definitely worth a look.

oh lol xD love the mentality haha!

Sim City - latest release was slated (by myself included) but they've apparently done quite a bit with it and not such a bad game now... or so I hear :p even when it was borked though I still had a great time trying to get a big sustainable city on the go, made even more difficult by the retarded AI of emergency services, transport, infact anything that needed to go anywhere!! the roads were a constant gridlock. but.....it kinda did add the the fun as it was made that much more difficult by these problems so surprised my cities were as "successful*" as they were.

*city would usually end in a bankrupting spiral :p

Roller-coaster Tycoon - fits description and I used to really enjoy making crazzyyyy routes for the rides xD or just building a row of boosters, putting a small ramp at the end and then watch the visitors fly through the air :p

Startopia was my first simulation game. Also another game, I am not sure what it was called but you build up a community on a moon?

FOUND IT - Space Colony
