Intro Help

Howdy Do !

I was wondering if you chaps could give me some help on this one...

Right few months ago I updated my friend’s dad website for his shoes "Spring/summer 09" and sorted all that out.

He now wants me to update his new "autumn/winter 09" stuff which I don’t have a problem with again.

But he also wants me to look at doing a new intro for the site

Whoever did that intro that is on there now is a bit silly because even I know that its ugly and should have been done in flash at least so you don’t get the ugly gif pixels.

Now I’m no good with intros nor do I know how to make them i.e. flash.
I know a little how to use animation in Photoshop but I really have no idea where to start. Could anyone give me some advice?
 
First of all, remove that the music :) Secondly, I wouldn't consider the cycling of images as an intro.
 
These Flash intros are really bad for conversion rates, which is why I never use them. They also don't help with SEOing the site. When I look at the site in IE7 it's asking for an add-on, that is bad for retaining the visitor.

A lot of business owners love these intros, but I would advise against them. If you want something like this then have a "video presentation / advert / about us" which users can click on if they want to, but don't put it in their way to begin with.

Site loaded up after a pause, heard background music, tab closed. Please please don't make an intro, they're a sure fire way of driving people away from your site.
