Introducing myself

Sound card is fast enough man, only thing you need is 2 gb ram, 256 mb geforce 6600-6800 like gfx, and a 2.5 ghz or more cpu ( or equiv athlon ) to run it maxed out, regardless of soundcard, without stuttering, in bf2.

2142 I don't know i never played it but the demo.

I can't run maxed out at 1024*768 let alone my desired res of 1280*1024 :( And that's with Athlon Barton @2160 at the mo and 6800LE (12/5) @ 375/860.

I defo think a new gfx card is in order... but doubt I can afford it :(

Odd, I ran BF2 maxed on a p4 @ 3.9 ghz ( ran fine on stock of 3 ghz too), 6800GS 256 mb pci-e, 2gb ram, @ 1600x1200, 4x AA, 16x AF, always above 30 fps, avergaging around 40...

256 mb of vram & 2bg system ram is essential on high textures.

Now runs even better once I installed it on my raid 0, got 4 gb ram, and a pentium D 3.9 ghz.

Might be that the LE is only 128 mb... :( The GS has 16/6 as well? (more like the GT? Perhaps its the 2gb lol. Anyway.. I normally play on 64 player servers so it might be down to that and in game lag.. but it seems slow 'turning' etc and unresponsive on higher settings.

If you have either a 128 mb card or less than 2 gb ram, just play on medium textures in bf2, and keep rest maxed, should be fine...

The card I have :NV42, is a card with , 12 pipes, 8 ROP's , 5 vertex shaders, 425 mhz clock on the core, 1000 mhz ddr3 ram 256 bit (32 gbps speed)

Oh I go to plenty of pointless meetings... Java's fun, its not the language that hard now.. it the amazing amount of configuration you have to learn and different technologies.
