** INTRODUCING VERTAGEAR GAMING CHAIRS - OCUK EXCLUSIVE **

Just put the SL-2000 together, it's the firmest of the 3, but comfortable to sit in and put together well! Quite easy to put together too, so maybe the SL-4000 was just an anomaly :)

I am looking to get a SL4000 in Black/White. It looks so nice, I've tested the SL4000 too and it is extremely comfortable, and the PVC leather material just screams premium!

How can PVC leather "scream premium"? It is the thing all cheap chairs are made of, ie: plastic. Unless of course you are talking about the design, which is of course a cut above the average cheap chair, unsurprising given the extortionate asking price.

Some of these gaming chairs are just as good as those chairs and cheaper too.

They're really not. A good ergonomic chair like the Steelcase Leap or similar will last decades and not leave you feeling tired and uncomfortable (the Steelcase chairs actually force you to sit correctly).

No offence OcUK, but these chairs are cheap tat like those 'gaming cases' that were just a steel box with a crappy plastic bodykit with stripes or whatever on, and I suspect you probably know this. :p

Have to agree with this. I have a Steelcase Leap V2 chair and I love it. It has so much support which makes sitting comfortable.

Stock some proper office chairs OcUK :p

rjk mini review:

SL4000 - Dead comfortable seat, softest feeling foam, the back wraps round you well and is very supportive.

SL5000 - very firm, supportive but doesnt wrap around you as much as the 4000, best looking seat in my opinion.

SL2000 - Best all rounder, the most supportive and comfortable in my view.

I use a giroflex g64 at work and the SL2000 has a similar feeling seat but the backrest is much more ergonomic and supportive. but that's comparing a £200 gaming chair to a £500+ operator chair so make of that what you will.

after using all three, the SL2000 is the bang for buck but the SL5000 is easily the nicest looking gaming chair i have seen myself in terms of materials and build quality.

I would like to say I've been sat in an AKRacing chair for a year now 9 hours a day 5 days a week hasn't broken yet and much more comfortable than my old definitely broken chair. :)

we've sold hundreds and hundreds of ak racing and arrozzi chairs and the returns average at 5%

Dx racer has a similar return rate.

I quite like the finish on these vertegear chairs the stitching is very nice on the ones we've put together up here.

Do you not feel that the price is a little too steep? Is there a reason behind the use of PVC aside from the fact that it is cheaper?

Are the plastics and mechanisms of a higher quality than the AK-Racing chairs which lots of people had issues with before? :)

no, the price is in line with offerings from other gaming chair brands. importing, storing and distributing products of this size takes a lot of time and effort. then if you google vertagear you will see the PR that OcUK has done to launch this range. this all costs money too. they are the best bang for buck chairs we currently list.

why pvc? because its hard wearing probably. PVC is stain, water and crack resistant. They wouldn't be £200 if they were real leather. and they're vegan friendly if that matters to anyone.

the plastics are impressive compared to other gaming chairs we sell. they fit well together and dont seem like they would get brittle or easily damaged. the base is pretty much exactly the same design as DX Racer and the wheels and star/hydraulics are the nicest/sturdiest we have encountered too.

I wouldn't buy one if you already have a proper operator chair etc. but then if you are looking at £500+ chairs, then you wont be considering a £200 anyway so those sort of comparisons are moot.

side note, we dont have suppliers for 'proper' office chairs because it isn't our industry. so the likelyhood of us getting those sort of products is slim especially when most of our market wants a gaming chair over a ergonomic task chair.

Regardless if you have quandary regarding the price, or material, or if they're crafty by spaghetti monsters from outer space (OK the last one may be true) - these are very comfy.

Let's all stop being a negative Nancy, and remember; "If you've nothing nice to say, the ban hammers will come out" - I mean "don't say anything at all" :)

Thanks for the info. Hindsight is wonderful, asking questions worked a lot better than moaning. :)

I've just come back from a nice forum holiday, I don't fancy another just yet! Unless you have any forum holidays going for half price?

we can kiss and make up later Acme. just be a bit mindful of how you word your opinion in this section.

it is populated by new posters and non members a lot so people seeing established users like yourself posting in that way can lead to more problems for our moderating team by getting newer users into bad habits.

Take note of Rjk's warning please Acme or access will be revoked permanently.

These look promising, especially considering the price ;)

Everyone in marketing (5UB, valkia, lolage, and myself) are all going to buy one most likely. They're all rather trim fellows, whereas I am not - and they're all really comfortable (the chairs not my colleagues).

Admittedly the SL4000 hugs a little more, so if you're like me and you're on the large side - you'll probably want either the SL2000 or the SL5000 :)
