I'm attempting to copy an inuse tmp file within my local settings, but it's having none of it, Its saying the file is in use.

Is there a way to do it?

I'm running Windows XP SP2.

I tried ending explorer.exe like you used to have to when deleting in use AVIs(Viruses) but that didnt work.

it's a flash tmp by the way

Thanks.

Get process explorer:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/ProcessExplorer.mspx

Open it, select find from the tool bar then find handle.
Enter the name of the file and click search, click on the result that includes the file and then click cancel.

In the lower half the of the screen the handle for the file should be highlighted, right click and select close handle

You should be able to delete it now :)

they're not viruses, they're just being accessed by shmedia.dll :o

yup :)

never mind, after stepping away and thinking about it logically, I tried an alternative way of doing it.

Which led me to a plugin for firefox called "Unplug"

Its fantastic, and has helped me a great deal :)

Thank you very much for your replies tho
