Thank god i ditched iPhone last year and moved to android.

Great OP. :o

I really like it personally. It won't satisfy the Android customisation fans but it's certainly a big step up from iOS 6.

I can't wait to try it.

I actually think it looks pretty decent, however, they could have done so much more with the homescreens, layout, colour scheme and unified feel/look, the colour scheme/UI reminds of touchwiz mixed with MIUI and a wee bit of stock android, essentially designed by a kid with no real plan as to what he wants......

They have certainly taken a lot from android or maybe better put, had quite a lot of inspiration ;)

You might be laughing OP but I don't see something as flexible as the new Siri on android. We have google now, which doesn't do anything to system settings and we got s voice which is painfully slow and only on Samsung devices.

Also the core UI is available on the iPhone 4 (with surely many features missing) but where is the htc desire these days, and the galaxy s? I'm sure their owners are enjoying gingerbread.

Why the **** is this in here for a start??

Secondly i dont think its too bad looking actually, its much more polished than previous iOS's and they have added a few new features.

I look forward to trying it out when the new iphones are out.

It looks hideous!!
After a year all they have done is come up with a theme that the JB community can come up with in weeks.

Android 5 KLP is what im waiting for!

You can't please everyone. So far it seems to be getting a very positive reception, more so than I thought, actually. I'm not sure what your little crusade is meant to achieve, keep it to the correct forum instead of trying to make troll threads.

I really like the look of it, as long as Apple don't mess up the next iPhone's hardware, I'll probably get myself one.

Edit: OP needs to grow up a little as well I think.

Looks nice if I'm honest. Don't have any apple products but can appreciate that. Granted many people I know who own iPhone's wouldn't even know how to update it.

Im not sure the comments section over at Engadget or The Verge would agree that its getting a positive reception.

Its not a crusade. I'm saying it like it is. In a year they have pretty much done nothing. The homescreen looks like every other home screen for the iPhone with this time a different theme over the top. Hardly drastic. The layout is exactly the same!

Can you tell me how its exactly a major announcement? Its just iOS with a new theme.

No mention of Maps.app- remember the fiasco which doesn't look like its going to change.

Safari- looks more and more like Chrome...just look at the tabs.

A square mode for camera app to take pictures for Instagram. Really?

Ugly as hell control centre....Windows Aero is calling......they want they design back!

Auto Update Apps- I have this on my android........so it isnt exactly revolutionary.

What exactly is the fuss all over?

Hmmm something i noticed about the new iOS7...seems like they have a hub integrated feature in the OS...similar to the new BB10 platform;) lol...dear oh dear Apple...honestly with your billions in the bank, could you not come up with something a bit more original??

My opinion as a graphic designer is... some good, some bad. Overall I like it a bit, but parts of it just look overdone and too much, a way away from the simplicity that Apple used to push. It feels like they've gone visually too far to please the critics, although the features they're introducing put it more on par with Android which is good.

They're always like that, at every announcement.

You are saying your opinion - which is fine - but you're going overboard with it for some strange reason.

I think the changes are all good, yeah, you can do it all on Android, but it's still notably different overall and is an improvement on iOS 6. If you think it looks ugly then just don't buy it...

It has a new theme, new animations, new features, interface changes like the control center. Much of it is taken from the Jailbreak community more than Android as well (and I bet some of Android is taken from the Jailbreak community as well).

Apple haven't said it's revolutionary either, just that it's an all new iOS, which it is.

You summed it up pretty great.

At Least I like it more than the previous versions. It will please many I think, esp Apple fans.

Don't forget the two year old iPad 2 also gets iOS7, making sure it maintains its position as a better tablet than any Android one.

Every single company in the world tries to take something someone is doing, and make it better/work for them. It's how everything works, it's not only Apple that steal things.

Sometimes it looks like people just look for reasons to bash Apple, it really is quite strange.

No, I'm not an Apple fan boy. I have a Note 2, and sold my iPhone 5 and iPad. I also use a PC, not a Mac.

it looks alright.. :) but then again i hardly like any OS.. my favourite as stock is probably JB really, and still im not 100% sold on it :) but i like dark/simple skins instead of bright/colour full ones.
