iOS 8.1.1 out (now 8.1.2)

It certainly improved my iPad 3 it was slow when first upgraded to 8 I was going get a new iPad air 2. But now the speed back how it was May hang fire

How longer after a release does Apple usually sign the older version? Im thinking of upgrading to 8.1, just want to make sure they are still signing it.

Just got my ipad2 out and checked this, expressively says its improvements for ipad2 so fingers crossed it brings the usability back.
Completely went off my ipad since applying 8

It certainly put my iPad 3 back alive as it been so slow since 8 a few times I nearly threw at the wall. But it now back alive

Upgrade completed and it feels nippier than it was before. Not sure if it was as fast as before or whether I'm just seeing the age of the thing now but it is better, but coudl be better again.

It has substantially slowed down the unlock process (maybe 3 seconds delay between finishing entering my code and seeing the home screen) on my iPad Air 1.

Unresponsive multi touch gestures "seemed" to be fixed on the iPad Air 2 after I updated, hope its actually fixed as it was doing my nut.

Hoping to get some feedback from 4S users as to whether this makes it usable or not.

We have a spare 4S in the family we're going to use as a backup phone and I'm not sure if I should upgrade it to iOS8.1.1 before storing it away leave it on trusty old 7.x
