Good link, I think I may leave the 4S on 7.1.2 for now and see if 8.2 makes any more changes.

Tinfoil hat on here, but I can't help but wonder if Apple purposely release a buggy yet vulnerable to Jailbreak release so people are forced to upgrade to fix to the patched version thusly leaving the exploit in the past.

Incredibly far fetched, but nothing surprises me from a company that disables features on identical hardware purely based on year of production. Mac Mini 2011/2012 Handoff support rage.

I'm going to keep my iPad 2 on 7.1.2 for as long as possible. I reckon we'll have at least 2 years before most apps start to require iOS 8.

Ok so is it possible to roll back to the previous version of iOS? There's quite a few things I like about 8.1.1 but the 5s was definitely faster on 7.whatever. Particularly the delay on all the web loading things.

Only upto about a week after the latest version is released then Apple stops signing the non-current version of iOS so makes anything but the current version impossible to install.

Battery life seems to be way down on my 5s. If I use the Facebook app it starts chewing through the battery rapidly.

Well that didn't last long - 8.1.2 has been released tonight. Some bug fixes for ringtones but no details on anything else.

I've noticed no problems on my iPhone 6 or iPad Air - but did anyone else lose their ringtones in the upgrade?

On the update screen it specifically says that if you lose ringtones then you should visit www.itunes.com/restore-tones from your iOS device.

I lost a silent alarm tone, have run the upgrade and visited the iTunes link but it's still not been restored :/
